Ordered some new toys.......
So I was thinking on buildign a new gaming rig....
but after thinking about it last night, I decided that by 2 year old base AMD dual core system is still good enough for now, and I'll wait for win7 to come out before I swap out my Asus Crosshair mobo for a intel quad rig with DDR3 ram after that. So with that decision, I ordered these toys....no more 23 frames in IL2 for me =)

Not bad. Now just hope you don't have any memory resource conflicts like I have with my (2) 8800GTXs. When I would install both cards, my network card would stop working. The network card is integrated into the MB, so I can't exactly change slots to try and fix the problem. So for now, I am still running (1) 8800GTX and it's running my games just fine.
And if it's any consolation, I am still running on a 3 year old AMD Dual Core system (AMD 64 X2 4600+, DDR) and have not had any issues running the latest games. This is probably the longest I have stuck with a single setup for gaming. I think I have bypassed 2 generations of CPUs since 2006. What I am afraid of now is having something fail and not being able to replace it due to my low funds. Damn this economy.

Pickup an Intel Gigabit PCI or PCIe NIC and use that, they're cheap and very good.Softball wrote:Not bad. Now just hope you don't have any memory resource conflicts like I have with my (2) 8800GTXs. With (2) 8800GTXs installed, I lose a PCI slot. I'll have to look, but I think I am using the other (2) available slots already. I don't really want to buy anything else for this system, I'm saving up for an upgrade to the i7 CPUs sometime this summer. I might also switch to Windows 7 when it's released, not sure on that though.
