Roger Wilco echoes

Post by Madrus »

Thursday night with Ger, Hudson, and myself on RW, we had a lot of echoes and feedback on the channel. When Kodiak joined, it was unchanged, so I don't think it was him. But I went to RW's support page and read the troubleshooting tips.

In short, go to:

and check your Volume Control settings; particularly the record settings. Apparently, this can cause echoes of OTHER voices on the channel. When Ger and Hudson left, I tried to contact Kodiak. Even though he was away from his mike, I got no echoes when I transmitted on RW. So my guess is Ger or Hudson has to check those settings. :)

Now that I think about it, it seems that I have been getting echoes on RW for a couple of months now. Maybe we should all check our Volume Control settings.

It's probably me, although I was not using the new comp for rw. I was using voice activation on an old laptop because the mic I had from old computer is absolutely attrocious.

At any rate I will check it out because, as I said it is most likely me.

... as a second thought I was getting echos of my voice as well. I suppose it could be Ger, but we can test it out. I'm still relatively certain that it is me....
