The 1.41 patch came out yesterday. As usual we should wait to update, and see if any problems arise. I will look into this for more info and see if there are any known problems yet.
Here are the links for when we are ready to update:

News about patch
I got some news about the 1.41 patch. It doesn't really apply to us so much, but to map designers. The patch apparently screwed something up in the RvS map editor, where the game CTDs when trying to compile a new map. One designer even went to the extent to reinstall RvS and not update to the 1.41 patch, and the RvS editor would CTD immediately after running it. So, it looks like until they fix this problem with the 1.41 patch, there will not be any new maps made. I will watch this close and see what comes of it.

Well, Ger and Hudson had upgraded to 1.41. They played with no problems yesterday, I believe. So I did also; and then Kodiak had to in order to join us. I did not notice any problems - other than the fact that I had the no cd patch for 1.40 installed.
When i tried to upgrade from 1.40 to 1.41, it would not upgrade because of the .exe file mismatch; so I reinstalled RvS,.....
Thus we have 4 systems at 1.41 now.

Patch 1.41
Updated to 1.41, no problems to report. Everything seemed normal.
With everyone that played tonight being updated to 1.41, I suggest we make it official and everyone update to 1.41.

Softball,
Any word on the map making bug in 1.41? I was poking around and couldn't find any reference to it. I'm at 1.41, so I can just test it actually ...
I guess I'll let you all know what I find out. Would suck if I couldn't finish the map I'm working (slowly) on.

Gator,
Here is the info(solution) I received in a newsletter from Mike's Maps:
Dear Members,
Yours truly has found a massive engine bug that has destroyed hours upon hours of work. This bug is most likely affecting many mappers, and they don't know what the cause is....Thank Ubi for not letting us know about it.
Skybox creation if of course the one BSP Subtraction for a great map. I have found a glitch in the way the map compiles. DO NOT resize your main cube subtraction after it has been made, otherwise, when you compile your map, RVS will instantly crash with a RenderWold>Update Tick warning.
Once again, I REPEAT do NOT resize your main game world cube after it has been subtracted. The game engine for some reason cannot handle the resizing of the cube. I am not referring to the skybox, I am referring to the actual game world subtraction itself. This appears not to be a >ZoneInfo< Glitch, it seems as though the Skybox and the way it is rendered on your fake backdrop walls causes the crash.
If it is too late, don't worry I can help you fix the problem. Open up the map with the resized game world cube. Cut that out first. Create a new map and paste the new world subtraction. Rebuild your map. Then, create a NEW skybox, just as you had before. Next, go back to the old map, and select "Select All Actors" from the "EDIT dropdown. This will take a moment, depending on how large your map is. Then hit the "CUT" command. Finally, go back to the new map you have made, and hit the "Paste" button. Everything should have been transferred over to your new map! Presto. Just don't resize your major world subtraction. Problem fixed!
I'm not sure if this has to do with what you are doing, but this was what I read about the 1.41 patch editor problem. Here is the URL for Mike's Maps web site:
