New Star Trek film

Post by PanzerMeyer »

Check out this exclusive scene from the new movie. Its very short but it really shows how the actor who plays the young Kirk really nailed it!

Yeah, I've seen it twice but not on IMAX. Oh well.

What did you think of the movie?

I saw this flick last night, at home on my home system. My bro got a bootleg copy (from Russia, with Love) and it was pretty good quality wise, was in dolby 6.1 and was prolly formated for a widescreen (which I dont have) but overall I enjoyed it. I'll pick up the DvD when it comes out. He also had Wolverine and the new Davinci code movie angles and deamons or something...

anyway Buff gives it 2 thumbs up

I went to see Star Trek at the movies the day it came out , and then when I got home , I downloaded a CAM video copy of it that was Terrible quality. I watched it abut half way through and decided , “I cant see what the hell is going on” and so I turned it off. But yeah Star Trek was a good flick!

It would seem that they did it right in setting an old-fashioned atmosphere in a newer movie. Not to mention they set themselves up for another episode. I wonder if the directors cut of this movie will slow down a bit to show some more depth of what’s gong on. It all happened a little too quick. Kirk goes to the academy and then “POOF” he's off on a transport flying up to the Enterprise. Then “POOF” , a Starfleet ensign passed up a ranking lieutenant to become first officer. I guess they didn’t want to delay the inevitable. Everyone knows Kirk replaces Captain Pike and becomes Captain of the Enterprise. I think now that “that’s” out of the way, the next Star Trek movie should go over well enough.

I believe the Romulan captain (Nero) was also in the movie “The Fifth Element” yes.. no? He also didn’t act very Romulan either. He must have came from the other side of the tracks. And yes.... Lt. Nyota Uhura did have a thing for Spock back in the original Star Trek Series. The upshot here is they got allot of things right in this movie that counterparts with the original series. This is one of the reasons that made it so enjoyable for me to watch along with my fellow Trekkers. My favorite character in the film would haft to be Dr. Leonard McCoy. Quote: “Here let give you another shot for that.” : ) <<Jabs>>

I saw Star Trek 2009 at REGAL theaters who charged me $9 at matinee hour and another $7 for some crappy popcorn. Later… I went to see Terminator Salvation at an AMC theater and it was only $6 for matinee and $5.75 for some tasty hot buttery popcorn. nice..

Terminator Salvation was a good movie too. The only thing is , is that it was too bad the military didn’t have any M1 Abrams to fight with. Or a Carrier task force assigned to the USS Enterprise spitting missiles at long range or using the MK 15 Phalanx Close-In Weapons System if any thing got close enough. I think John Conner would have appreciated that kind of back up. Well they did have The A-10 Warthog but no Army Apache helicopters or Marine Corps Cobra attack helicopters. Well no but… they did find some Huey helicopters from the Vietnam-era and dusted them off , a little prep work and they were ready for action. The movie didn’t make much sense as far as the military goes , but nevertheless , it still was a good movie.

edit. testing

Okay It was supposed to be Jabs Kirk. I guess RLG doesn’t like it. Oh well. And yes I guess there is a new time limit of how long you have to reply. Better make it quick! Or “POOF” you’ll have to start over like me. :)
