For those who may not know, "Caprica" is a spinoff series of Battlestar Galactica which takes place 58 years before the events of the BSG mini-series.
So I just finished watching the 2 hour pilot for "Caprica" and I have to admit that I was very impressed with it. The new characters are quite interesting especially Daniel Greystone as played by Eric Stoltz. He did a fantastic job. If you are a fan of BSG, I think you will really like Caprica. I was also very surprised to see how exactly the genesis behind the creation of the cylons began. What looked to be an innocent game between high school teenagers quickly evolved into something deeper but I'll leave it at that.
Anyway, I highly recommend it.

It's only available on dvd and digital download right now. Apparently, Sci-Fi Channel wont be broadcasting it until later this year for whatever odd reason.Softball wrote:I didn't realize it was showing already. Was it on the Sci Fi channel? I wonder if they will show it again? I could not find it on the TV listing.

I just found out online that Caprica has already been greenlit as a series and they are currently shooting season 1. It probably wont be shown though until next year. Sigh.Softball wrote:Ah ok, thanks. I'll have to pick it up at some point then.

If you are the least bit curious about where and how and why the Cylon centurions were made and what caused them to rebel then "Caprica" will be a show that you'll be interested in.daofcmacg wrote:Well I guess I will put it on my Netflix list. I thought it was just another spinoff prequel like the other trends that are out there. Giving more light to the core (BSG).
The pilot is very good IMHO.

No. Season 1 of "Caprica" is already under production and will air sometime next year. The pilot will also air either late this year or early next year. It's just that the pilot was made available early on dvd.daofcmacg wrote:I thought it wasn't going to go beyond str8 to DVD shedding some light on what led us to the beginning of BSG and ultimately the end of the show. Interesting how all this panned out for BSG to live on.
