Spring 2009 Softball Season

Well, I am a bit surprised, but we made it to our 2nd Championship game after a sub-par season. After finishing 5 - 7, we somehow made the playoffs as the 4th seed on Thursday night. Our first playoff game was against the #1 seed on Monday night, which we won 9 - 5. Our 2nd playoff game was against the #2 seed on Thursday night, a team which beat us handily during the season. In the 2nd game, we jumped out to a 13 - 4 lead, and hung on to win 13 - 10.

So, tonight we play in the Championship game against the #1 seed on Thursday night, a team which we have come close to beating, but lost both games against them during the season. The winner is decided by the first team to win 2 out of 3 games. We play a double header tonight and if we split, we play the final game Tuesday night. I'm hoping we can win both games tonight and finish the season as the B-division Champs. If not, it was a good run, but at least we made it to the finals.

Our team is called "Hazard Squad." Hopefully we can pull of another upset in the finals.

Sorry I didn't post sooner. We ended up losing the final game 17-6, so we finished in 2nd place. At least we made the finals and got a pretty decent trophy to boot.
