dam pc

Post by VEGETA »

Well some how got a virus, sunday 4 am my pc wnt nuts with videos and pop ups going nuts. The thign would not even let me run anti virus apps at all messed up. Ok found some of the virus freaks and killed them but still got stuff there and windows was just not working right. So ok format time, but my main issue is I have 2 legal legitimate windows xp licensees and dam it to hell can't find the discs to go with it and not 100% sure the keys I found on a the disc sleave is the one I need (ie several disk sheaves that have different keys for other Microsoft products like the visual studio. So neadless to say I am ticked. I may just break down and spend 100$ and get a new copy of XP while I wait for windows 7 to hit as I will be moving to that system. why o why could this not have happened when 7 was going to hit

make sure ye do your windows updates, and in these great times your adobe flash/reader updates. My mother in law got an obnoxious, albeit easy to remove virus through a pdf she was one way or another conveyed into opening.

I would not be surprised if it was malicious flash or pdf whether by email or web that ate your PC, with all the wonderful wonderful adobe vulnerabilities in their software lately.

Personally, I run down my computer on tuesday and look for updated software (MS does patch tuesday once a month, which is why I pick Tuesday, but I do it every tuesday...) to see if there are any updates available for my software; with the update checkers in most programs making it so easy it generally takes about 15 minutes to check two computers... saves me from pain later...
i know some people say, "If it ain't broke don't fix it", but they don't write those updates for fun; it's because something IS broken. You just don't see it YET

well seams I can get vista home premium for 150$ with a voucher for upgrade to windows 7 so since I want windows 7 I may just go that way now do I want 32 or 64 bit lol. I am thinking 64 bit but u never know lol get full use of my ram

anyone know a good reason not to go 64 bit. I have heard some image software may not like it and such and drivers have to be microsoft blessed or will not work with the 64bit vista

Sigh Veg. You have to remember to have your anti-virus ON while you surf for pron.

no good reason not to go with 64 bit, unless you KNOW you have a piece of hardware (crapware) that does not have 64 bit drivers, or you know you have a piece of software (crapware) that really really doesn't run on a 64-bit OS.

I haven't encountered anything yet.... doesn't mean I or you won't though. I guess there could be something...

The most shocking aspect to this whole thing is that Veg spelled 'legitimate' correctly. :D

I'll be honest, when I first saw the title of this thread, I could have sworn DA started it. lol!

Try running Malware Bytes on your PC, that should clean it out nicely.

Also, try running a Repair install once you find the disc, that way you won't lose any of your porn images and videos. :P

ya already got vista but got it cheep and got the upgrade voucher so free upgrade to windows 7 so all is good. Found the boxed version of vista (non oem) for almost as cheep as oem, and that's nice for fact the key works for both 32 and 64bit versions and usually the box version don't have some of the oem limits. and with upgrade option I am set
