PS3 price drop

Post by VEGETA »

so finely they dropped the price now 300$ form 400$ on a new ps3. also they announced that come a few months the slim ps3 will hit. the 300$ is in effect now for the 80 gig version but the slim will also be 300$ when it hits and come with a 120 gig hard drive. So hey for those wanted a blueray player and like the idea of gaming the price cut makes this seam a decent solution as it can also be used as a home entertainment control center of sorts. I think I am waiting for the slim myself.

it's not "a few months" ... it's "a few weeks." But yes, it would make a great blu-ray player. Unless you are in a great hurry, you should definitely wait for the slim. It uses less power and is quieter as well as the larger hard drive.

ok some reason I was thinking november. I may buy one when it hits as to be honest they also make a great home entertainment center for things like videos off network and such. The only big issue is removal of the support for 3rd party os installs. Tho that will be hacked lol

But ya few weeks I may have a ps3 lol few games I want to try

Now I do wodner what other thigns changed where more or less ports added for example for space

anyone else here have a PS3 or getting one ??

Veg, you should get an X360 so you can join Gator and I on XBox Live. :)

I would get a PS3, but I just don't see the need right now.

who said anything about a need lol

1/2 the reason I want the ps3 is as a media center/blue ray player, best deal in town for that setup at 300$.

I almost bought a xbox for 250 a while back but o well. Brother got one now and likes it. but that dose not have the blue ray and such abilities to make it as good a media center

I got a wii and love the dam thing. isuse is no room in my bedroom to use it lol. But its fun, and has some more serious games for it now and loads of silly fun ones. But in all honesty well worth it in my opinion. I enjoyed the basic tennes as much as the metroids games to be hoenst. Its a very fun way to play but its not as serious as say 360, pc or ps3. Its for fun casual games.

issue I have is I want some games made for both systems DOH but atleast now they are affordable as I would not call inital costs of even previous cost of ps3 at 400$ affordable. 300 $ breaks into the I will buy it range.

The best milsim games on the 360 are GRAW 1/2 and R6. GRAW was better on 360 than PC. Flashpoint 2 is coming on 360.

The new PS3 has hdmi, ethernet, optical audio, sony proprietary video, and 2 USB ports, plus 802.11g.

I use it mainly for blu-ray and dvd upscaling (which the 360 does a pretty good job of as well).

There is a new game coming for X360 and PC with MP COOP. I will most likely get the PC version.

the co-op is not for the campaign - it's for select "challenges" only. bummer if you ask me.
