Falcon 4 Pics from 8/2/02 and 8/4/02

Here are some pics I took from my Friday night Furball with DA and Kamakazi. The first 6 pics are from Friday night. I was in the US Thunderbird and Kamakazi was in the Tiger F16. In a few of the pics you can see Kamakazi flying over me inverted. During the night, it was DA and myself vs Kamakazi. Needless to say, we got smacked around. I keep telling myself, need more practice, need more practice. It was all good though.

The last 3 pics were from 8/4/02, of me in the A-10 on one of the 301st missions I downloaded a while back. I was a SEAD (F16s), Tank Batallion Attack (A10s), and a Sweep(F16s) mission. I tried to do the SEAD missions first, but ended up getting smoked in the first few minutes by Mig29s, and then on my 2nd try, I managed to shoot one of my own planes, hey at least I hit something, lol! I was spiking him and did not get a BUDDY SPIKE, so I fired on him. DA kept crashing to desktop, so I backed out of the mission and tried again. The 2nd time around I gave a whirl at the A-10. Man what a slug! 300Kts Max., UGH! Managed to make it to the target, take out a few targets, and then was whacked by a missile. I heard ARCHER INBOUND, I started hitting chaff and flares like a mad man, but alas, I ended up having to eject. For what it was worth, it was great to get some more practice in. Sorry things didn't work for you DA, I wonder why?

see now I have to start doing that myself. Those pics look great. I think in the coming months with the emergence of SP3 and the steady but slow decline of JF-18(I hate to see that SIMM go like that) the Wing will be 1SIMM, The Naval presence will still be there with SP3 and Janes F-18 but this will be the SIMM of choice and I'm wondering if Falcon5 will augment the naval SOP into the game???

Here are some more shots. The pic I really wanted to put up there that I thought I took was not amongst the others. It was a very funny pic. I'm on my last leg in the groove for landing when I notice in my HUDD a tornado sitting at the edge of the taxiway waiting for me to land. I'm thinking ok lets hurry this up they have a schedule to keep, but then I notice wait where is THEY! I only see one tornado. I ponder over this and wonder what is that right in the middle of my HUDD with my ILS over it, I am about a quarter of a mile mentally calling ball,. it looks green(by this time I am not watching the AoA or my ILS but my glide path will put me right at the edge of the runway, also losing power kinda quick now) wait its not clear yet, sitll pondering, I scan the horizon for his buddy no joy, look back at the runway, at about a 1/4th of a mile I realize holly crap(as his wings become clear to me) its either the lead tornado or the number three tornado, I'm thinking turn up the afterburners man as I look at my airspeed, AoA and pounds of fuel per hour and I realize that I have only one recourse and thats to turn myself into a brick. I'm about 500ft off the ground and he's sitting there like a lame duck I guess thinking I'm going to fly right over. So I bring back the throttle to the back stoppers and tap air brakes manage to change glide path to the very edge of the runway keep my nose up speed drops down to about 100KTS smack the runway with my rear landing gear, I cycle the throttle thru the stops never put my nose down and get some serious lift real fast but I bump the runway with my Afterburner nozzles, almost kartwheel, get off maybe 5 feet above his tail(all the while the tower is saying wave off wave off!!!!).

I look back on that situation and wonder to myself thinking how would that have gone down about a year ago when I just joined WOF hell even six months ago. I realized even though my skills are nowhere near Kamikazi, Raptor or Viper but I've learned alot from these guys and many others and the most important thing I've learned is to keep my cool and treat every situation like its real and respond accordingEven though its just a game). Now I don't know if anyone else would have waited so long to acknowledge and confirm the obsticle for what it was, personally I thought it was a mobile SAM or triple A vehicle that just so happen to stop on the runway for a brief second but when I first saw it I thought it was just my imagination.

So if you ever see something that just dosen't look right in a otherwise normal procedure, believe it and act accordingly before its to late gentlemen.

Upon further review of the situation and settings it has come to my attention that I left invunerability on(I was wondering why when I crashed into the ocean I bounced off). I smacked the bagezass out of that tornado.
