This is pretty awesome - you can hit the OSB and UFC buttons on the iPad. The MFCD screens do update too, though they are a bit slow. I'm tempted to see if I chop down the resolution or if I can do something else if they'll be smoother. Either way just having the controls there to press regardless of whether TGP/MAV is usable is awesome.

That's pretty sick. I'll be trying this out, but I'll have to figure out how to get the USB cable to reach my computer. I'll probably need to get a USB 2.0 HUB.

I'll also need to come up with a stand for my iPad 2. What are you using? Maybe a photo stand or easel will work?

Everything is done over the network so no need to have it plugged directly into the PC - probably part of why the screen updates for the MFD's aren't the fastest in the world.

As for stand, this is what I have:
http://www.amazon.com/Arkon-Portable-Fo ... 639&sr=1-1

The Touch-IR+ software was $4.99 and there is an autohotkey in app purchase for $1.99 that you have to buy. The desktop software piece is a free download.

You also need to set up static MFCD displays that aren't moving around with your in game view constantly if you want to see them update on the Ipad. It's not at all mandatory, but helps for navigating the menus. They can be set up somewhere either on your main display, or on a secondary - though you don't need to see it displaying all the time. This works out for me, because I can technically plug my computer into a second display and extend my screen without actually having the other screen to use. The screen grabber app for grabbing the MFCD's, and A-10C always do their thing on the second screen, even if I can't see it and it just shows up on the iPad. Custom monitor setups are actually pretty easy to make and there is a sticky post on the Eagle Dynamics Forums describing the process of creating the lua files.

The guy that created the setup for A-10C using the Touch-IR software has his free download. It includes a keyboard layout for DCS A-10c with all the key mappings required and some profiles for Touch IR+ with all the static page layouts and goodies you need to get it working.

These three pages have pretty much everything you need to set up:

This is the best place online to get cables. I got turned onto this place by a friend that installs high end home theater systems. If in need of a HDMI cable....this IS the place to go. All my HDMI cables came from here and lets just say I didnt pay $100 for them like at Best Buy, in fact the shipping was just a bit more than the cable prices =)

We use them sometimes at work for cables too; they really are one of the cheaper sources of cables; when you order enough in bulk the prices get even cheaper too, which is why your friend probably likes them so much for his business.

Youtube videos with various setups using one and two MFCD's, or even going through startup swiping through different displays

When I originally stumbled across something like this it was with an Android device I think, but instead of updating MFCD's it was just a series of touch buttons. I assumed there was no such equivalent for iPad, but continued my search for Maverick engagements and soon stumbled over this one...

Touch-IR+ is an iPad App, so it will work only with the iPad, but that doesn't mean there isn't something similar for Android.

In theory it should work for Black Shark too - the thing that makes it so easy is that someone made a profile for A-10C, but Touch-IR+ is a general purpose remote control App intended for Media PC's and so on, so if someone has or does make a profile, or you just want to set one up yourself the A-10C profile would probably be a good starting point to see how it is done and go from there.

Looks like their is a separate project called Shark Pit for Black Shark but no idea how similar or not it is. There is a vote on the side of the IPad pit with one being "Port it", so if you want it on Android I'd say clcik that and see what happens.
