DCS: P-51D

Post by Hudson »

Looks like P-51D. Even compatible with A-10C and Ka-50, though I think it would be somewhat of a mismatched fight...

So the odd part is that this appears NOT to be a WWII sim, but just rather the fact that you can fly the P-51D in the same regions/timeframe that exist in the game today. Kinda odd. I suspect what will happen with Legends though, is that when they're done with Nevada they may create a new region better suited to Legends. And in the Legends line, hopefully we get a German aircraft. I will _probably_ buy it in the hopes that this is where they are going. Let us hope anyway...

I have the Fight Club quote going in my head right now... "Where are you going with this Ikea boy?"

I may get this depending on the price. I'd be curious to see what it's like to fly a very realistically modelled P-51D. Maybe one day DCS will make a WWII sim?

Ya, they're saying if you think you know anything about flying a P-51 from any other sim, just forget it, you don't know anything.

As I said, my _hope_ is that the Legends string continues and we get some German aircraft. That and after they finish Nevada give us a period European theatre to fly in and it would at least be OK, even if there aren't a ton of WWII ground and air units. You don't need that much all at once to at least get dog fights going

A full fledged WWII sim from DCS would be great especially considering what a clusterfrak Cliffs of Dover was and still is.

Bogey's air speed not sufficient for intercept. Suggest we get out and walk.
