I think that is Norco Veg. Narco is Spanish for drug dealer! but it might be a match. :)

Norco is available in US - or at least used to be.

the issue with the laws that make no sense is that the people making them really have no clue, and that is what happens when people with no clue are involved in making laws, rules, regulations and policies.

ya Norco is right. And they use to be in the US but is not there anymore. US government blocked for some reason. Apparently those m305's now demand a premium. Something about the way the chamber is made is apparently really good. Other parts once replaced make it a good toy.

So Friday got home and wife is excited as I had 2 letters in mail from the goverment. One was documents saying I still owed tax (ya I forgot to pay in a bit form last year) and the second from RCMP with my new R/PAL ( Restricted/Unrestricted Possession and Acquisition License). So I am now licensed to buy and restricted and unrestricted toys on the market.

My first toy I will be getting is a Remington 597 HB 22lr rifle.
http://www.remington.com/products/firea ... sc_lang=en

Did the research and I they are a good toy and with the heavy barrel, a tack driver and available here for 225$. Any 10/22 up here is 300 for a basic, anything with a heavy barrel is 500$ if you can find it. The 10/22 are back ordered over a year so very hard to even get them. So hey figure pick it up this week and then figure out when I can go to the range for a little fun.

As for my wife, one of her references has still not even called the RCMP for there interview so she is a little annoyed at that person now. Hope to get that done for her today and hopefully she gets her license today.

Well I bought the toy Saturday. So first toy to my collection. 225$ + tax for a heavy barrel semi is a good price to start with. Now I need to get a trip to a range to have some fun. That and need to mount a scope and the HB has no sights stock but dose have the rails for dovetail or weaver on it stock.

I have not even added a scope yet. this is not mine but at this point in time its identical.

What I did was strip the thing apart and clean it. I also spent a little time cleaning up the stock. The seam where the molding was done needed a little filing to be perfectly smooth.

Now unfortuneltay the club I was trying tog et into near me filled up before my app hit, so I am not in there. so need to find alternative for shooting.

So hey figured keep this thread moving instead of a new one.

But ya Got my 22 out to the range. I have added a 1x4 scope onto it and a by pod (ya overkill but it looks badass on this 22). the Remington target stuff I bought was absolutely hated by this gun, it would jam a lot and lots of failed to fire. Did the research and ya apparently this ammo is considered crap in general, O well. I also had some left over of another brand of I believe Winchester 22 (need to confirm what I had), and it was much more liked. With this ammo I was able to do about 1" groupings at 50 yards. I was more having fun then trying hard but overall I was impressed with this toy.

Now even with the better ammo I had the odd jam based on not extracting correctly. I have read on the 597 its hit or miss if your rifle will perfect or not. But the good news is almost everyone's extraction issues are solved by a volquartsen extractor. I know I can take it back but for a 20$ part I will just get the extractor. I also will over the hammer which apparently makes for a much better rifle overall as well. I love to tinker so this to me is fun.

https://www.volquartsen.com/products/26 ... ington-597
https://www.volquartsen.com/products?ut ... C%93&q=597

Now the range had a store that had stock of SKS rifles. We have boat load sup here in Canada by the way including cheep surplus ammo to feed it. The price was 200$ which is about avg here and I got to look it over. Ended up bringing one home and cleaning it up. This is to be just a fun rifle to play wtih, it will never be extremely accurate or anything. But hey come zombie Apocalypse, it can be used as a club PDT_Armataz_01_37

Still trying t figure out what other toys to get. Prity much set on a 308 Tikka for a hunting rifle. Really liking there new CTR, could be used for bit of precision shooting and for hunting. But those magazines are about 200$ a pop. I may just end up with there light weight one. I know a AR is in my future, m14 (well cheap copy for fun), a type97 (Chinese Military billpup, just a fun toy when I tryed one), and a few handguns (1911 needed, maybe a P226). Shutguns I am still looking but hatsan has some interesting loking things. but at this point all I know is I want a pump one.

And good news is Canadian government about to announce some changes to gun law seeing less restriction on things like AR's so these which would be amazing. I will post details but ya its suppose to be good.

Veg, i like my SKS riffle a lot! for it being what it is, i think the thing is fairly accurate.

most of my guns are rather inexpensive. even my AR15 is not built from top of the line parts. but, for what i spent and for what it is, it will serve just fine.

actually out of all the 22lr i own. the most fun gun for me is this old Winchester 22 single shot. its hard to get an accurate date because they didnt have serial numbers on these riffles, but from looking at the part changes over the years on this model of gun, i would say its somewhere around 1935 to 1940 ish. it looks like it too :P

i will probably get flamed for this, but for a real fun plinker. i like my Hipoint 995TS carbine. its a pistol caliber, mine is in 9mm. comes factory with 10 round magazine. just a real fun gun to plink with with great sights and all for around $300 US. believe it or not, im also a fan of the pistols ( i have the 9mm one ) for what they are. they are big, ugly dont have to care what it looks like, brick of a gun. but it goes bang really well. and because of the weight of the slide ( blow back operation) a lot of the new people not used to guns like it, because of less recoil.

anyway, just some ideas. there are a few reviews on the Hipoint carbine on yahoo. and i think it may fit for your regulations with the 10 round magazine. ( there are more expensive pistol caliber carbines out there as well. they tend to be more expensive. )

So figured update a little. Last time I posted Wife and I had the 597 HB and a SKS. Nothing changed there, SKS still stock and 597 same as it was modded before.

Since then we got some new toys

first up was a Hatsan Escort WS shotgun. Turkish and good reputation, and can be had here for some good prices. So for a first shotgun seamed like a good starting point considering it came stock with 5 chokes for it. We have done some trap and such with it and plan on a hunting license maybe this summer. Wild turkeys in my area ans goose. Like the gun, feels solid and such so happy with that toy.
http://www.hatsan.com.tr/en_escort_ws.html

Next is another shotgun, this one for pure fun sake. A Hatsan Escort MP tactical shotgun on green. It feels good, and just a fun toy. Tried some trap and slugs with it. Found out the threads on the outside for the flash hider are the same as that Saiga-12 shotgun. So looking to get the choke adapter that is available for the Saiga-12. Of course since the Saiga-12 is a ak variant its prohibited here by name alone. so need to sorce that in the us. but once i get that and maybe add on a 4x shotgun scope i have (was on a 22 at one point) I may use this for dear hunting. To hunt in southern Ontario its shotgun, black pouder and bow only. Got to go a good ways to get into hunting with rifles. anyway we will see.
http://www.hatsan.com.tr/en_escort_mp.html

Next wife wanted to go James bond. PPK being prohibited here (barrel length under 4.1 inches). We are waiting for a 380 version to come up for sale second hand (cant bring new ones in) and have it re barreled to 4.1 so we can own it. IE we can get prohibited license unless we had parents who had it grandfathered to them back in the early 90's. sucks to have the longer barrel but it will let us have it and save it from the smelter as people with prohibited getting fewer and fewer.

but hey James bond used a p99 i some movies, which is no longer made but its replacement is the ppq. Wife fell in love with it so first handgun in the house goes to the wife. We got our hands on a second hand one that by the looks of it shot a few rounds and that's it. We got the m1 version with paddle mag release. The m2 is the same except it used the more common button mag release. Wife being left handed and myself right, the paddle made the gun fully ambidextrous which is great. Not shot it yet, any week now we will have the paperwork to be allowed to bring it to the range. Being a restricted toy, you need paperwork to be allowed to transport it. Yep Canadian law is silly but at least we can have ar15's under 16 inch barrel here lol.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walther_PPQ

Speaking of AR's that the newest toy we are adding to the list. And man did we go all out, opting to get a Canadian toy. Our m16 version for military is called a C7 and the m4 equivalent is a C8. Well being Canada, when we looked to replace the FN-FAL, we liked the m16/m4 but decided it needed to be better. The result is the C7/C8 rifles. The Canadian company Diemaco produced the new rifles to a extreme standard. These things are top of the line and even used by many special forces around the world.

the name Diemaco fell to the side as Colt bought the company and made Colt Canada or something along those lines. in rither case they never sold to the public EVER and its still a military/police force maker to this day. But they have opened to the public in 2014. From this we got the SA20 (C7) and sa15.7 (c8) rifles. Besides being semi auto they are the military rifle. The produced 500 of each for 30th anniversary and that's it. they even dusted off the diemaco name for them. Now colt Canada is producing new toys, specifically they have released a iur upper in 15.7 inch off leftovers of a Denmark order I believe (have to look that oen up). there should be more available but looks like it will be leftovers off production runs or when a order form some contrary comes in they will produce extras for civilian market. they will not tool up for just civilian only orders as they are not the market they are in. but hey to be able to get a colt Canada rifle in any forum is a great thing

wife and I wanted one of these since they where released but at 2K its a bit of coin, and it hurt to watch numbers dwindled down to almost nothing. Found a few places with stock remaining (one and 2 here and there) and we happened into a little extra cash. So weekend we said screw it we are buying. Lucky us checked the forums and one of the stores I was looking at had a 12% off sale on all restricted firearms including this bad boy. BUY BUY BUY. So cant wait to get it and shoot this sucker. High quality toy with lifetime warranty, the maker of which being a hr drive form my house is cool. and then tack on the history of this one ad the fact its Canadian is a great thing.

Note suggest reading the Caliber mag article i attached, some nice info as well for people who enjoy this kind of thing.

I have the PPQ M2 (9mm), definitely my favorite pistols to shoot. Very smooth, accurate and compact.

I'm currently building an .308 AR; just purchased a PSA complete lower for it. Gonna be a while before it's complete though, as I'm looking for very specific accessories and I'm getting some Cerakoating done on it. Will definitely post pics when done.

nice toys softball.

I would love to get a few ar projects on the go. A 7.62 x 39 sucker would be fuin because of the cheap ammo and its a fun round. I would not bother with 308 as its expensive to shoot and ar's here i cant use any ware except at the range. Love that first one you posted tho, nice little sucker

I got to shoot mine on wed july 1st. Breaking in a Canadian made ar on Canada day, yep that works. It worked perfectly. Tho still need some kind of optic on the sucker.
