Mods we're using

Post by Hudson »

It seems painfully obvious from last nights play we needs a list of mods we will be using for game nights. So far I have this list of maps people have suggested download of at various points. Can we have someone (maybe Madrus???) make a call as to which maps and map packs we should/should not use.

As far as I know we should all be using patch 1.51 as well.

Most of these are downloadable from links in the RVS forum.

Alley Strike 1.0 Map
Ancient Escapades 1.0 Map
Art Map
Blackstar 1a Map
Bordertown Map
Coliseum Map
Death Towers 2 Map
Embassy Map
Village Map
Weapons Cache Map
XE Warehouse Map
IQ Map Pack
Platoon Map Pack v2
Platoon Map Pack v3

that list right there is fine. If everyone downloads and installs those maps, we should be fine for a while.

The list looks good; I will try to take the whole list, put it into a one click install, and see if we can't have Raptor put it on the site for download.

If just hunting them all down annoys you, I have them all at http://www.montleon.com/mods (all the ones that begin with rvc for Ravenshield and gr for Ghost Recon)

It's not gonna be fast, cause it's hosted (completely against the terms of service for 3 years now I might add) on cable modem service, but at least they're all there in .exe format to be opened and installed with ease. I will painfully execute anyone who tries downloading these while we're playing (and shut off my server)... but most other times I'm liable not to give a rats arse if you're slowing down my browsing experience

Even if you just get the map packs is fine really. I can host within the confines of those mappacks and still have a great gaming session. No worries here. In addition to the mappacks, steel has alleystrike and village. So whatever works for ppl.

Raptor is modifying the Ravenshield Download page. Last night I uploaded a one click install of another map pack that includes all of the single maps we use. So now you will have 4 map packs: Platoon's map pack v2 and v3, IQ map pack v1, and Ravenshield map pack v1.

I would expect that all most of us have to do is dl and install the Ravenshield map pack v1, since most have the first three already. It is a 30 MB dl.

Steel, could you please post the link to the Ravenshield Map Pack on our site?

BTW, the Brick Hideout map is a pretty fair map; it has 62 terrorists on it.

here it is...

http://www.wings-of-fury.com/Downloads/Ravenshield/

or at least the link to the directory...

I can not/will not modify the site with all the Flash crap in it! Raptor or Katana need to do that.
