Sci-Fi Movies that should be remade

It seems like common sense but a book and a movie are two different art forms and you just cant do a literal translation from one to the other. In a film you have certain things to consider which dont apply so much to a book like pacing and dramatic tension.

FACT: Jackson made changes to the characters and the story, and added his own material.
OPINION: I don't much like Jackson's version because it needlessly strays too far from the source material to suit me. Furthermore, I think he's a hack who has a thing for gigantic quadrupeds.
Ahem. Now then.
I'm sure there is somebody, somewhere, who thinks Catwoman is the veritable epitome of modern film-making art.
