CheckPoint Incident

An incident has ocurred at a military checkpoint in Iraq resulting in American marines shooting dead 7 Iraqi women and children. The headline is somewhat sensational, but given the circumstances recent incidents, and environment it's hardly surprising. What IS surprising is that there were 13 people in total in the vehicle, and the rest escaped with their lives.
Unfortunately, this is also incidents which turn that well-earned good reputation into political suicide! This will surely be thrown in our faces and used against us by those who would find that sort odf tragedy a means to their own ends!!

If I recall correctly there were 4 US soldiers killed at this same checkpoint this other day by soldiers dressed as civilians.

if that is true, it is no wonder those soldiers reacted the way they did. i am amazed they waited until after firing warning shots. I don't think i would have been as patient.
