So I go to start my computer today and for no apparent reason I'm getting a continuous and sustained tone at the Windows XP login screen. Suggestions as to what this may be and how to resolve it?

So I rebooted and now I'm not getting the sound. It did it twice before, but on this reboot...nothing? WTF is with the weird and random errors on this machine?!

I would go ahead and run the diagnostics test from your BIOS. There should be one there.

You two New Englanders crack me up.
By the way, I'm still majorly P.O'ed about the Red Sox collapsing like that.
Oh well, here's hoping the Angels sweep the Yankees.

I concur with Hammer, stuck keyboard key.
Borrow money from Hudson to build a computer.

Yeah exactly why I don't borrow money from Hudson or anyone else for that matter. Building a new comp is just not a priority right now. I rather spend my mad money on hiking gear and clothing so I can stay active.

your money wouldn't be mad if you spent it on some nice electronic goodness like it wants. Then it would be happy money.

My money isn't mad. It's happy spending on a few choice pieces of hiking gear and saving up for a new place to live. :-)

I argue with everyone. It's in my nature. Only way to shut me up is with a shovel to the face... someday someone will take care of it.

I think we should have a WOF-sponsored garage sale to raise funds for Grifter's new PC.

Or make a cardboard sign saying "Will work for Grifter"and stand on a freeway off-ramp accepting cash donations. Haha.
