Dell Vostro A860 Laptop, $399

Post by Softball »

This is a pretty decent laptop for the price. If you or anyone you know is in the market for a new laptop, this might be worth looking into. And I'm guessing you would get a free Windows 7 upgrade too.

Laptops are getting cheap. My wife bought my mother-in-law a pretty sweet laptop for something like $300. If I didn't have a laptop I'd be VERY happy with it. It was a toshiba satellite of some sort or another.

It's very cool that they can be gotten for so cheap though; practically cheaper to buy a new one than repair an old one. Good for us, bad for our landfills. Sort of like how printers were/are...

I found out today that this laptop requires setting up a Dell business account when you purchase the laptop. Lame. So, it's probably not going to apply to most of us on here. Please disregard, unless you have a business and are looking to buy a laptop.

Even more ridiculous is the fact that in order to use it in a business environment, it needs to be the Pro version of the OS, and it says Vista Basic. Pffft.
