Hello,
It appears that Team Speak 3 is having issues with detecting some of the key presses from the WinWing throttle. I suspect this is due to the fact that some of the buttons on the throttle are "Always On" and continuously keep sending the signal.
Is there a way to configure the ptt via a text/xml file and set it in TS3 ?

Hi Alpha,
I do not know the answer to your question, but congrats on owning a WinWing. That's a serious piece of hardware. How do you like it? A couple of us on VKB stuff and we love it. Hammer may know if there is a way to edit a text/xml; I'll shoot him an email to alert him to your post. Alternatively, and again I don't own WinWing and have no idea, but I'm wondering if you can edit the buttons in question so that they are not "always on"? Does the WinWing come with configuration software? I hope you're able to sort the problem out.
Grifter.

Re: Winwing PTT with Team speak 3
I looked and found nothing on my system indicating where the config is stored. A google search does not reveal anything about WinWing and Teamspeak PTT issues. I would echo that the always on thing is what is going to be messing it up. I would recommend investigating the config software for the WinWing to see if something can be changed.
Maybe there is a support forum for WinWing?
Or try posting in the ED DCS forums about the issue?
EDIT: found the config folder. it is in %appdata%/ts3client. on my system that translates to c:/users/helmut/appdata/roaming/ts3client. however, the config is a binary database file and not text editable.

You might also try Hoggit, of course. Someone there may have an answer.

Hi Grifter,
I like WW because it's the closest approximation to "a real throttle" that features a decent TDC.
The downside is it's huge footprint and some issues with switches QA. They had a batch of defective switches and I had to replace mine.
The only way to make it work for me is to use joystickGremlin and map a joystick button to a key.
Unfortunately there is no way to change their switch behavior in hardware. All of win wing's three position switches have 3 position DX buttons.
I also own VKB, and I think it's "meh" on the stick side. It's too plasticky, but at least it has a decent analog slew.
For Hornet sticks, I think that Thrustmaster F-18 stick is the best with the WinWing F-18 stick being second. (I own all of them).
I run TM Hornet stick on Virpil base and TM F-16 stick on WW base.

Re: Winwing PTT with Team speak 3
That's quite a setup. I'm a bit envious you have so much to choose from! It's really unfortunate that you WW doesn't come with some software like VKBconfigurator to change the behavior of its hardware. I guess you could use Joystick Gremlin to bind the necessary keys, but I know from personal experience that I really don't like dealing with the hassle of external HOTAS software to create binds. I really try to limit my use of the software for that purpose. You mentioned Joystick Gremlin. I recall another piece of software called nJoy. Not sure it will be helpful to you, but you might check it out.
Sorry, I wish I could be more help but it sounds like you're stuck without using some sort of keybinding software. Maybe someone on the WW, DCS, or Hoggit forums has a better answer. I hope you can solve the issue so that it doesn't prove to be a point of frustration. Control issues suck!

Re: Winwing PTT with Team speak 3
WW actually does come with software called SimAppPro. However, I only use it as a last resort because it has major issues, such as rewriting your main export.lua without any prompting among others.
Re: Winwing PTT with Team speak 3
Yikes! That's is disconcerting. Perhaps Rust's suggestion is the way to go. I hope it helps. :-)
