injured

Post by Grifter »

Got into a minor car accident. Other guy's fault. Four cars in all, so a real foul up. Long story shot is that I got whiplash. I should be able to play this weekend, but I'm going to take it easy. Sitting at the computer is'nt too good for neck and shoulders. I tend to inadvertantly sit "wrong" at the desk, straining those muscles. So I'll be around, and should be able to play this weekend. Take care.

Just the two things for ya buddy:

1. Ya shoulda been drivin' a LEXUS.
2. Git yersel' one o' them special wheelchairs with all them add-on exztras for supportin' yer neck and and arms an' stuff!! LOL! Hell, git one wi' a motor and ya don't even need to stand up to go fir a pee!! They're all "stick" control - so you should be able to negotiate the sofa and coffee table on the way to tha' kitchen or loo! 8O 8)

Well Kodiak, thanks for your concern bro. Two things though:

1. I was driving a subaru forrester, probably the reason why I wasn't hurt more than I was. I think I got more hurt than the car did though it will need some minor cosmetic work done.

2. fortunately, my injuries aren't so severe as to need a wheelchair. thank heavens. Actually this is really minor whiplash by the sounds of it. I'm on muscle relaxers and I'll be going to physical therapy. My neck vertabrae are straight as an arrow, so I have to fix that. shrug.

So I should be in relatively good shape in about a week or two and I'm guessing I'll be going to PT for a couple of months. No drama. Just banged up a bit and won't sit at the comp much, though I'm feeling pretty good today. ;-)

My 2 cents:

Get a Hummer (with all the military fittings). That way, their cars will be completely crushed while you carry on as if nothing had happened.
"...and the bombs go BOOM and the walls crash down, bang, bang, boom, boom, war is a terrible thing, OK?!..."

Accident

Post by Softball »

Sorry to hear about your accident Grifter. Hope you have a full recovery, accidents are never a good thing.

I was in an accident about 10 years ago (Wow, has it been that long?), was a 4 car pile up at a traffic light in the rain. I was stopped and a car ran into the back of my car, hitting me hard enough to push me into 2 cars in front of me. It crunched my truck (1992 Ford Ranger) up real bad. Thankfully I was not injured, but it was a scarey experience none the less.

Even though it wasn't your fault, I hope no one else was hurt in the accident, it could come back to haunt you.

Man Softball, that is the EXACT same accident I had. It was even raining a bit and the road was slick. Only difference was I was rear ended by a guy who was rear ended and I hit the guy in front of me as a result. I was at a complete stop. Yeah, I'm hoping no one was hurt too. I know I'm having my lawyer settle this one for me.
