Army gets new uniforms
"Shoo! Shoo! Go away! Oh God, he's got a monkey." -- Ms Purple
Yeah we are getting a new uniform...they have been looking into replaicing the BDU for some time, they decided on a digital pattern(similar but not the same as the Marine Corps) a very different color for the camo and a lot of changes in design. Its one uniform for all eviroments...no more deserdt uniform(DCU) or woodland(BDU) the one pattern should work good in every place. Maybe the best part is no more black boots(no more shining!!)...we will be using desert boots with the uniform and they have a rough surface so no need to shine...whooho!.
The uniform also is wrinkle free so no ironing or cleaners.
They will start issuing the new uniforms early next year to deploying soldiers and later in the year to recruts at basic training...the whole Army should be wearing the new uniform by 2007.
I think this is great, it was about time we were getting a new, practical and distinct uniform(so many countrys look like us).Cant wait to get my hands on one
