Okay, so Han shot first. Incidentally han was the only one who shot too though, did you ever look at it from that angle?!

Yes, in the director's cut, Greedo (allegorically named), shot as well. Only he must be the worst bounty hunter to have ever lived because at point blank range, his shot was waaaaay off the mark, hitting the wall a whole foot to Han's left side.

Not so sure I buy that! I'll need some supporting evidence to show that Greedo did infact pull the trigger AND that there was a resulting shot, not to mention that it was actually aimed at Han with intent to injure or kill. He may very well have only intended to protect himself from "Han shooting first!"  And let's be honest, would your aim be all that it could if you'd just been shot by one of those inter-galactic hand laser thing wotsit guns?

'Directors cut'? You mean the *cough*<censored>*cough* 'enhanced' version George Lucas foisted upon an unsuspecting public a few years back, which is the ONLY version of the movie one can obtain legally on DVD?

Apparently Lucas wanted it this way back in the day, but the squibs going off near Ford's head was too risky as he had to jerk his head to the side. This meant that not only was it going off next to his head, at the start it's directly behind his head. The state of FX at the time meant they couldn't put it in during post, so the whole idea was scrapped.
Digital tech in the late 90s meant he could put it back.

Greedo of course was a bad shot. He was just lousy. I mean, he holds him at gunpoint but fails to disarm him??

Maybe he just frightened the shit out of himself when he caught a glimpse of his reflection in the mirror.

Exactly Jedi. The version I own does have Greedo taking a shot at Han...a lousy shot..really kinda far away as I said. So Lucas does get the scene he wanted. Greedo does shoot and yes maybe his shot is just lousy because han's laser hit him first....but I just tack it up to lousy bountyhunting. He was overconfident and did'nt even think to ask Han for his pistol.

Fact is, Greedo didn't get shot because he was there to bounty Han's head, or even cos he shot at Han, but plain and simply cos the guy was butt-ugly!!
